We believe that POESIA perfectly reflects the individual "terroir" of our vineyard. POESIA has drawn upon the naturally benevolent climate of Mendoza and combined his with our experience as owners of Clos L'Eglise (Pomerol), Château Barde-Haut (St Emilion Grand Cru), Château Branon (Pessac-Leognan) and Château Haut Bergey Pessac-Leognan) to produce one of the finest wines in Argentina.
The 13 hectares estate is located in the heart of Lujan de Cuyo, in the Mendoza region, which is considered the finest region for Malbec in Argentina. POESIA comes from a single vineyard planted engrafted in 1935 that is made up of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The vineyard and wine are treated with the same meticulous care that is applied in France to our Grands Crus. The vine cultivation is 100% natural, no herbicides or pesticides are used and all work is done by hand. The average yield is 25 hectolitres
per hectare. The grapes are hand-harvested, and all the equipment used in the wine-making process is imported from France in order to guarantee that the 20,000 bottles of POESIA are produced with the same high-quality tools, that we use in France.
Small, traditional, 60 hectolitre wooden vats, which are specially imported, are used in the small winery, that resembles Clos L'Eglise in Pomerol more than an Argentinean Bodega. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels and the wine is aged for between 18 and 20 months.
POESIA is a blend of 60% old Malbec "Franco" and 40% old Cabernet Sauvignon "Franco" which both come from the same vineyard. We believe this best shows the particular "terroir" unique to POESIA. The wine is bottled at the property. Each bottle is
numbered and they, together with the labels, have been specially designed and produced in France to reflect the quality that is POESIA.
